He rejected the premise of the question.
“The truth is that we have never been after developing a nuclear bomb,” he said. “Not in the past, not presently, or in the future.”
He then went a step further, describing the construction of nuclear weapons as “wrong” and “in contrast to the religious decree” of his country.
“It is religiously forbidden for us to go after a nuclear bomb,” he plainly stated.
